Lorelle Savage

Bachelor of Speech Pathology

Lorelle is a Certified Practicing Speech Pathologist and member of Speech Pathology Australia, with over 15 years of experience. Lorelle started this practice part-time in 2008. She has previously worked for the NHS in the United Kingdom, and Qld Health, in hospital and community health settings.

Lorelle has many years experience working with adults and children across a variety of different caseloads.

Lorelle has strong interests in working with adults with progressive neurological disorders, voice disorders and children with literacy difficulties. She completed training in the Sounds-Write quality first phonics program for teaching literacy in 2018. Lorelle is a Certified Hanen trained therapist in It Takes Two to Talk and the More Than Words programs, VoiceCraft and the Lee Silverman Voice Treatment for people with Parkinson's related voice disorders. 

 

Lorelle is passionate about helping the local community, to build strong and capable children. 

Lorelle also has a young family and spends all of her spare time enjoying time with them.

Elizabeth Young

Master of Speech Pathology Studies

Master of Science, Developmental Linguistics

Elizabeth is a Certified Practicing Speech Pathologist and member of Speech Pathology Australia. She graduated from the University of Queensland, then joined the LS Speech Pathology team in 2017. Elizabeth also has a degree in Developmental Linguistics which she obtained at the University of Edinburgh.

 

Elizabeth is passionate about working with children, especially helping them with their speech sounds and pronunciations. You will see her working in our Yarrabilba and Cedar Grove clinics. 

 

Elizabeth has completed ongoing professional development training in PECS, Sensory needs and pragmatic language. She is also a Certified Hanen trained therapist in More Than Words program. She enjoys learning new ideas and techniques to help her clients achieve their best. 

Interestingly, Elizabeth also has a BA in Ancient History and Archeology.

 

When Elizabeth isn't being a speech pathologist, she enjoys reading and playing computer games, and is still trying to devise a way of doing both at once.

 

Elizabeth has been known to sit under tables if necessary, and is our resident 'cold frog', the heater will always be on for her sessions. 

Kayla Smith

Bachelor of Psychology

Masters of Speech Pathology 

Kayla is a Certified Practicing Speech Pathologist and member of Speech Pathology Australia. She graduated from Griffith University, then joined the LS Speech Pathology team in 2019. Kayla also has a degree in Pyschology.

Kayla is passionate about working with children, particularly those with early difficulties in fluency and language. However Kayla is also able to see adults that are referred and enjoys getting to know everyone, young and old. You will see her working in our Logan Village and Cedar Grove clinics. 

Kayla is a Certified Hanen It Takes 2 to Talk therapist, and has attended a workshop on DIR-Floortime, emphasizing the importance of relationships in therapy . . She enjoys continuing to learn new approaches and continually improving her techniques. 

When Kayla isn't being a speech pathologist, she loves to collect plants, eat donuts and take care of her furbaby, Dorky. 

 

Kayla enjoys the variety of clients she is able to work with as a speech pathologist and particularly enjoys working at LS Speech Pathology as she feels it has a very supportive environment of team work and continual improvement. 

We love Kayla's postivity and joy in life. She will always see the positive in a situation. 

 

Maddi Winsor

Bachelor of Speech Pathology (Honours)

Maddi is a Certified Practicing Speech Pathologist and member of Speech Pathology Australia. She graduated from the University of Queensland, then joined the LS Speech Pathology team in 2019. Maddi brings her experience of working with the Department of Education and Department of Disability Services.

Maddi has a special interest in working with children experiencing literacy and speech sound difficulties, as well as adults and children with complex communication needs. You will see her working in our Logan Village and Cedar Grove clinics. 

Maddi has special training in PODD (an augmented communication method and tool), Key Word Sign, Cervical Auscultation and school aged literacy. She is also keen to learn new ways of working with her clients. 

When Maddi isn't being a speech pathologist, she loves car racing and coffee.

 

Maddi enjoys working in our small close knit team and believes we have a good focus of working with families and the local community. She enjoys the varied expertise that the clinic can provide in communication and feeding across all ages. 

 

We love Maddi's honesty and ability to advocate for her clients. 

Karen Voevodin

Administration

Karen joined our team in August 2017 as our first ever administrative officer. Karen has worked in an accounting/bookkeeping capacity for 23 years before taking some time off to raise her children. In the last 13 years of her working career, she was a Business Systems Consultant for an accounting software company.

Karen enjoys gardening and spends her spare time volunteering at her daughters' school. She also supports her husbands rally interests every chance she gets.

We don't know what we would do without Karen, she is wonderfully organised!
